Install/Enable the Hyper-V Role (Virtual Machine)

1. Open the Server Manager (it's the new tool that is a centralized management utility for Windows Server 2008)
• Alternatively, you can open Run command prompt and type: ServerManager.msc
2. On Server Manager, right click on the Roles container, and then choose the Add Roles
• Windows will now launch the Add Roles Wizard
3. Click Next to bypass the wizard.
   
• Select: Hyper-V Role check box, and click Next
• 
4. Before Hyper-V Role installs, it informs to enable Virtualization at BIOS level (some servers require and some do not
• 
5. Click Next, then choose which network ports to allow sharing network to Virtual Machines, so the VMs can communicate with other hosts computers.
• Note: There at least one network has to be bind, although you can bind as many as available. Click Next
  
• 
6. Now the confirming screen will notify that the Hyper-V Role is about to install, and will warn that the server may require a reboot after installation is complete.
• Click Install
7. Once installation is complete, click Close and Yes to reboot/restart when prompted.
• This should successfully install/enable the Hyper-V Role.

How to connect a secondary hard drive?

1. Restart your computer and go into BIOS
• On the MAIN page (1st page) select SATA drive configuration into AUTO detection.
• Some setting have PRIMARY MASTER, AUTO/PRIMARY SLAVE, SECONDARY MASTER, SECONDARY SLAVE options, Change all fields to AUTO detection
• Save Changes and Exit
2. To connect a secondary hard-drive: Open the PC case
• Without changing any wires, connect an extra wire cap and a ribbon to the secondary hard-drive.
3. Plug everything back in and start your PC.

Avoid laptop/computer crash

Simple considerations can save you time and hassle restoring your laptop.

• When you turn off, hibernate, and/or close the laptop lid, wait until your laptop completely turns off and/or hibernates.
  
• Waiting for couple seconds until your laptop is off and/or hibernated, allows your laptop to completely stop the spinning disk, which is the common cause of computer crashes and/or boot error(s). 
• Reason: since hard-disk continues to spin and read data until it is completely stopped, slight movement of computer can cause the disk to misread information that causes boot error and/or alike errors.
  
• Unless: you have a Solid State Disk (SSD), which is a flash based hard-disk.
  

Upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Professional

1. Right click on Computer -> Properties

2. In System Properties, click on: Get more features with a new edition of Windows 7 to launch Windows Anytime Upgrade wizard.

 

3. Select applicable option below:

4. Click Next to allow Windows Anytime Upgrade to verify the entered key.

5. Accept the "Microsoft Software License Terms"

6. Reboot to complete the upgrade.

Not worth deceiving

My grandfather used to remind me about things that are not worth deceiving myself: education & labor.

1. Education - if I trick myself or take an easy route in just getting an "A" in class, I will suffer down the road.
   
2. Labor (pertaining farming, fixing and etc.) - if the job is poorly done, it will not harvest.
